The energetic and flexible Family Programs Teaching Artist will teach 25-minute studio sessions to diverse, intergenerational audiences attending Target First Saturday.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s required; Bachelor’s in Fine Arts preferred
Knowledge of art history and artists’ practices
Experience teaching studio art
Experience working with intergenerational family audiences, including children
Commitment to working a minimum of three Target First Saturdays per year
Responsibilities:
Familiarize themselves with the month’s project, supplies, instructions, and other First Saturday events and Education programs
On First Saturdays, 6–8pm, teach or co-teach four 25-minute sessions in the studio: set up studio, welcome and seat participants, distribute supplies, provide instruction, transition between timed groups, clean up studio, and attend reflection meeting with brief reflection form. Each studio session serves approximately 25 people. Some FSAT projects may be offered on an ongoing basis throughout First Saturday (e.g., outdoor sessions in summer).
Assist with distribution of photography release forms and information about other Museum programs, as needed
Mentor and work with teen staff
