The Brooklyn Museum seeks a highly motivated Assistant to work with Gallery/Studio Program art classes for ages 6 to adult. The Assistant will provide general support for the program, studio support for Teaching Artists, tidy the studios, and field inquiries from visitors. The Assistant will support general GSP classes on Saturdays and a Vitality Arts GSP course (for people over the age of 55) on Tuesdays.
Requirements:
Experience in teaching youth and/or assisting in art classes
Excellent communication, group management, and teaching skills
A record of good attendance and punctuality
Familiarity with art-making materials and processes
Responsibilities:
Assist instructors as needed in delivering art classes
Write weekly reports for supervisor
Prepare art supplies and organize supply storage
Work with individual students in art classes
Assist visitors with finding information
Provide administrative support to staff, including printing materials, submitting work orders, and writing reports
