Joanne Leonhardt Cassullo Video Fellow (P/T, Temporary)—Engagement

We are looking for a talented emerging videographer to be our next Joanne Leonhardt Cassullo Video Fellow (Video Fellow) in this ten-month, part-time paid fellowship. The Video Fellow will contribute to all phases of production for original content—behind the scenes of exhibitions and newly renovated collections, artist features, event coverage, and more. Our video team plays an integral role in the Museum’s digital content strategy, by raising awareness and buzz for the Museum and growing video viewership and engagement through impactful visual storytelling.

Reporting to the Video Producer, and in collaboration with the rest of the Digital Content team, the Video Fellow will primarily assist in the shooting and editing of engaging short-form videos. We are looking for a passionate storyteller willing to multi-task with our team on deadline—from creating highly produced original videos for various social media channels to fun, dynamic, buzzy videos for Instagram Reels and TikTok. The ideal candidate will have strong technical experience—creating content proposals, staging/lighting an interview, camera operating (Canon R6), audio (Zoom/Wireless Lavs) and post-production (Adobe Creative Suite).

Requirements:
A successful candidate will meet many of these requirements, and have the desire and capacity to learn the rest on the job.

Bachelors or Master’s candidates in film and video, media studies, or a related field
Technical production experience: camera operation, audio, lighting and editing
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Comprehensive knowledge of digital video, Adobe Premiere (or other compatible editing software), and Photoshop required. Familiarity with After Effects and Illustrator will be helpful.
Knowledge of short-form content and video trends across social media platforms
Experience in TikTok and Instagram Reels content creation
Experience pitching and storyboarding concepts for videos and video series
Priority will go to candidates with innovative portfolios and experience from pre-post production to creating engaging marketing content for diverse audiences
Candidates must be available to work on site when needed to assist with production; flexible remote work is possible if personal computer system can handle 4k editing
Interest in art and art history is a plus
Responsibilities:

Support the managing Video Producer with all aspects of video production, including planning and scheduling, shooting and editing, and asset management
Help concept, create, and execute TikTok and Instagram Reels content while identifying emerging trends to drive innovation, grow engagement, and community size within the platform
Work with Digital Communications Manager to source and create channel-specific video content (multiple exports to facilitate aspect ratio of various platforms, i.e., horizontal cuts for YouTube and vertical cuts for Instagram Reels) optimized to drive engagement
Work with the project manager for scheduling and logistical assistance
Coordinate with A/V department for necessary supplementary equipment and production support
Collaborate with Graphic Design, Publications, and the Digital Content team to adhere to design and editorial standards for all video content
