Children’s Garden Instructor (Summer)

The Children’s Garden is a fun and exciting place where kids spend time planting, playing, observing, learning, and building community in a nurturing environment. Summer in the Children’s Garden incorporates the garden as a resource to support nature discovery, planting and harvesting, explorations in local and cultural foodways, artmaking, and science investigations. Our program is committed to nourishing community, creativity, curiosity, and social and environmental awareness for young people ages 5 – 12. The Children’s Garden is a learning garden, designed for young people to follow the wonder, make and learn from their mistakes, and to find a sense of safety and belonging.

Young gardeners develop skills in planting, maintaining, and harvesting vegetables, herbs, and flowers in an outdoor learning environment. Youth also learn skills in composting, supporting wildlife, and creating change as it relates to environmental and food justice.

The Garden seeks a dedicated and experienced Instructor to engage audiences in our Children’s Garden program, Tuesday through Friday from June 28th through August 19th.
