The Queens Museum seeks an experienced Security Guard with flexible ‘on-call’ availability to assist in safeguarding the museum building and assets. Reporting to the Director of Facilities, Security Guards are key front-facing team members who play a vital role in carrying out security and safety protocols at the QM and creating an overall safe environment for staff and visitors.
Key responsibilities include monitoring phones, security cameras and equipment while stationed at the Front Reception Desk, observing and monitoring the building for unusual occurrences and incidents, providing key updates to the Facilities Director and interfacing with public personnel including law enforcement and first responders. Security Guards are present at all QM special events to support the onsite event staff. The ideal candidate will have prior security work experience and safety training and have flexible availability to work ‘on-call’ between 7-24 hours per week including weekends and evenings from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM and holidays as needed.
