Human Resources Coordinator

NY City Center is seeking a part-time Human Resources Coordinator who will have a big impact on the execution of critical business processes like recruiting, onboarding, and employee engagement. The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for performing recruiting activities, gathering, and maintaining all human resources data and responding to all employee inquires in respectful, efficient, and timely manner. This individual has a keen interest in interacting with City Center’s workforce and improving the daily operations of the human resources office. The Human Resources Coordinator is expected to demonstrate a passion for helping employees and providing superior customer service while upholding City Center’s mission and our commitment to be an anti-racist organization.

Guest Services Representative

The Guest Services Representative, of which there will be several per show, will work as a team in our hospitality-minded environment and assist in all aspects of our patrons’ experience starting with their arrival at City Center for their performance, and assisting to ensure a comfortable and safe experience for all. These assistants will be an extension of City Center and demonstrate a passion for supporting a great patron experience while upholding City Center’s mission, and our commitment to being an anti-racist organization.

Assistant Production Manager

The Assistant Production Manager will aid the production department in the day-to-day coordination of all the physical elements and logistics for the New York City Center Mainstage. This position will help oversee crew during, load-ins, performances and load-outs. The Assistant Production Manager is expected to demonstrate a passion for this work while upholding City Center’s mission, and our commitment to being an anti-racist organization.

Director of Human Resources

New York City Center (NYCC) is seeking an experienced Human Resources professional, reflecting City Center’s commitment to an engaged, informed, inclusive and supported workforce. The Director of Human Resources will be an important addition to City Center’s management team. Reporting to the President and CEO, he/she will oversee the human resources function and have a part-time direct report to support with administrative duties. They will support NYCC’s 55 full-time administrative employees. Although the staff includes an additional 400 part-time and/or seasonal employees --primarily in union-represented positions -- the labor and employment issues related to that portion of the workforce are generally handled by others in the organization. Nonetheless, the Director will be involved in certain matters affecting the unionized workforce on a limited basis. The Director will be an advocate for employees and management, considering and balancing the needs of both in the advancement of the organization’s strategic goals. The role requires a strong communicator and a keen observer of workplace culture, equity and employee engagement with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and be influential in his/her recommendations. He/she will be committed to the support of positive, inclusive and equitable employee relations in service to a workforce of creative and talented employees who are proud to be part of New York’s leading center for dance and musical theater.

Copywriter

An integral member of the fast-paced Marketing & Communications team, the Copywriter is responsible for end-to-end creation and delivery of compelling original written content that brings the brand to life and simultaneously drives demand for upcoming dance and musical theater programming. Passionate about attracting new audiences, the Copywriter researches and identifies the hook that translates to compelling copy on the website, emails, postcards, blog, Playbill, etc. This position requires creativity and a love of words—executed with a keen attention to detail and a sense of ownership. The Copywriter is expected to demonstrate a passion for writing dance and theater promotional materials while upholding City Center’s mission and our commitment to be an anti-racist organization.

Digital Marketing Manager

The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for the end-to-end strategy, creation and implementation of New York City Center's presence online including emails, website, and paid digital channels. This person plays a key role in execution and evaluation of digital and email marketing campaigns that are primarily designed to convert viewers to ticket buyers for the institution’s dance and musical theater programming. This individual is able to strategically merge digital content with paid media and identify the many ways content can be shared across email, website, and social media to create community and attract new audiences to City Center as well as to activate word of mouth. The Digital Marketing Manager is tech savvy and up on the latest digital trends—all while upholding City Center’s mission and our commitment to be an anti-racist organization.

Manager of Donor Information and Analysis

The Manager of Donor Information and Analysis is a key member of the Development Department, overseeing the department’s use of the Tessitura database and providing data management, and analysis for all areas within the department to help meet and exceed the annual fundraising goal. This role primarily works with and reports to the Director of Development and the Director of Individual Giving but also interacts directly with the other key members of the department and with the VP of Development. They are responsible for mining the database, using all available tools to identify the top acquisition and upgrade prospects, and refining the Development Department’s list segmentation strategies to help increase membership and other philanthropic giving at City Center. This person also reports on how the Department is performing overall and is responsible for drawing insights and making revenue generating recommendations based on internal and external research and data.

Social Media Associate

New York City Center is seeking a passionate arts marketer to be the Social Media/Content Associate. This person knows how to create social content that stops the scroll, pushes people to engage—all the while keeping an analytical eye on multiple campaigns across multiple platforms.

This person has an instinct for what’s on (and off) brand, has an eye for what makes an engaging video and a powerful visual, crafts copy that sings, and understands how data can inform a smart editorial calendar, as well as steer the media strategy for both organic and paid campaigns. This individual is an extraordinary task master who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is not flustered by tight deadlines.

The role is intended for someone who cares deeply about the dance and musical theater work we put on our stage and growing the community that follows those artists and creators. Ideally you know how, or are willing to learn, to capture and edit video, as there are exciting opportunities to create original content from the myriad of directors, actors, musicians, choreographers, dancers, and teaching artists that create work for our stages and educational programs.
