Development Coordinator

The Development Coordinator is an important colleague who will support our fundraising work in a number of ways including: administration, campaign design and execution, and special events. The position works strategically with most departments across the organization to help us maximize our fundraising activities. The Development Coordinator also engages externally with community members, board members, and program partners. This new position offers the opportunity to build on, create, and implement new systems that maintain productivity in our fundraising work. WHC is at a very important moment in the organization’s trajectory. A number of new staff recently joined the team, new programs are underway and revenue is expected to diversify. This is an ideal time and position for a candidate who is open to learning and appreciates the opportunities that exist within an organization that is in a period of exciting change.

  • Primary Responsibilities

Administrative Support:

● Support the implementation of the individual and corporate giving program, including drafting and sending out letters and materials ● Coordinate the development of annual fund appeals ● Ensure that all donations are properly tracked and reconciled with the finance team ● Support data/CRM (Salsa) migration project ● Help to create and execute multi-platform fundraising & information campaigns

Board of Trustees: ● Aid in preparing onboarding materials for new members ● Schedule and coordinate quarterly board meetings ● Manage deadlines and update moves management chart Cultivation: ● Engage the marketing and development team to create and send donor and funder communications ● Work with CEO to track and respond to development related emails and correspondences ● Collaborate with other departments to execute development related events and site visits Preferred Competencies ● Experience in fundraising ● Excellent writing and communication skills ● Ability to manage multiple projects ● Strong track record of meeting deadlines and executing deliverables 

Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager is responsible for enhancing the organization's profile, brand identity and community engagement. The Marketing Manager works to deliver a clear narrative and voice to build awareness about Weeksville Heritage Center’s work and impact. The position works closely with multiple areas in the organization including public programs and development/fundraising. The Marketing Manager reports to the President and CEO.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage all branding instruments and materials through traditional and digital marketing including: eblasts, social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube), and WHC’s website

  • Create compelling digital content

  • Execute and evaluate targeted paid advertising campaigns

  • Develop marketing plan with clear benchmarks and deliverables

  • Maintain and update WHC’s website

  • Create scheduled engagements through Mailchimp

  • Identify and cultivate strategic media based partnerships to ensure key successes in community engagement efforts

  • Employ analytics, SEO, micro targeting, and geotargeting to increase attendance and awareness

  • Integrate marketing work into the organization’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system

Vice President of Learning & Engagement

As a thought partner, strategist, and implementer of WHC’s education and public programs, The Vice President of Learning & Engagement will develop work that supports existing projects while charting new directions, providing a unique and extraordinary opportunity for discussions of economic freedom and social justice. The Vice President of Learning & Engagement undertakes this position at a particularly significant time in today’s contentious climate, making WHC primed to be a national symbol in the quest for racial equity and social justice. WHC is building its leadership team to take the organization into the next stage of our evolution and to maximize our impact now and in the future to mark a sustainable future. The position reports to the President and CEO.
