Digital Transformation Lead—Engagement

The Brooklyn Museum seeks a skilled Digital Transformation Lead for a full-time hybrid remote and in-person role based in Brooklyn, NY. You'll be a key member of our growing Engagement team, working with leads across our team and the museum as a whole to manage digital transformation projects with a huge impact on a beloved community arts institution and its future.

Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer and the Director of Customer Relationship Management, you'll run projects to overhaul our website and CRM, leading the installation of project management practices and systems. You’ll be instrumental in creating an excellent experience for visitors, members, and art lovers around the world while also empowering our broader team to create impactful and innovative work.

This is a grant-funded, union position with a term that currently ends July 31, 2024, with a possibility of extension.

Digital Content Associate

The Studio Museum in Harlem seeks a Digital Content Associate to support the development of public-facing digital content on studiomuseum.org and the Museum’s various other digital platforms. Reporting to the Digital Communications Manager, the Digital Content Associate will work with the communications team, and cross departmentally, to create a rich digital library in support of the Museum’s mission that is engaging, relevant, and impactful to audiences. The ideal candidate can think creatively and work quickly to help execute wide ranging projects across web and social media.

Press Officer/Writer

As the Studio Museum prepares to open its new purpose-built museum in the center of Harlem, the Museum seeks a dynamic Press Officer/Writer to support the museum’s communications campaign and editorial initiatives while supporting the museum Director and Chief Curator with ongoing requests for writing and public speaking engagements. The Press Officer and Writer will play a critical role in building and continuing to establish the Museum’s reputation as the foremost authority on contemporary Black art.

Graphic Designer

The Graphic Designer plays an integral role in the Brooklyn Museum’s Graphic Design Department. The designer is responsible for conceptualizing and designing innovative and compelling design for exhibitions, wayfinding, signage, publications, and print and digital projects, while maintaining and exploring the museum’s visual language in close collaboration with the other members of the design team.

Working in a highly collaborative studio setting, this role works on projects in all stages of the design process to support overall attendance and revenue goals, improve the visitors experience, and expand upon the Museum’s design language across visitor touch points.

The Graphic Design team is part of the Engagement division, a multifaceted team—including staff in digital communications, graphic design, marketing, merchandising, public relations, and visitor experience—responsible for leading the institution’s audience-engagement strategy with a focus on digital initiatives.

Compost Project Coordinator

The NYC Compost Project, created by the NYC Department of Sanitation (DSNY) in 1993, works to reduce waste in NYC and rebuild NYC’s soil by providing New Yorkers with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities they need to produce and use compost locally. NYC Compost Project programs and staff are funded and managed through the DSNY Bureau of Recycling and Sustainability (BRS) in partnership with host institutions.

The Project Coordinator for the NYC Compost Project hosted by Queens Botanical Garden reports to the Compost Project Manager. This person is primarily responsible for delivering workshops and trainings (including the Master Composter course), planning ongoing communication to the public (including Instagram channel and newsletter), overseeing interns, and planning public outreach events. This person must be able to track all of their activities and efforts and submit data to the Project Manager in pre-defined quantitative or narrative format as needed.

The Public is seeking a savvy, strategic, and collaborative Senior Director of Communications to lead its communications team in amplifying the stories of the theater’s artists, productions, programs, and mission through innovative and skillfully planned strategic campaigns.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Director of Communications will build and maintain relationships across the media landscape, develop captivating narratives and pitches for a wide array of productions and programs, collaborate closely with colleagues and artists across the organization, and support the continued development of the communications team through innovative thinking and advocacy.

Director of Marketing and Communications

Wave Hill is seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications, a skilled strategist and talented wordsmith who will articulate the spirit and mission of Wave Hill to uplift its public profile, support organizational goals, and increase audience awareness and engagement. Answering to the President and Executive Director the Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing effective seasonal and annual communication and marketing strategies both on and offline. The Director oversees Wave Hill’s website, social media engagement, email communications and marketing campaigns. This role is part of the senior management team and works closely with other departments to create engaging content and leads video and audio content development and production. The candidate should be a highly creative, big picture thinker who can use storytelling to inspire audiences.

The Director will lead a talented team of 3 staff members, an Associate Director, a Graphic Designer and a Social and Digital Media Coordinator. We are looking for a seasoned, dynamic individual who can inspire and motivate others in a collaborative, positive and inclusive manner providing opportunities for growth and learning.

Social Media Manager

The Social Media Manager will be a member of the Marketing team dedicated to driving awareness, engagement and conversion for Wildlife Conservation Society’s 5 Parks: Bronx Zoo, New York Aquarium, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo and Queens Zoo.
The Social Media Manager will work closely with the Director of Marketing as well as the creative team to build brand awareness, engage + strengthen relationships with followers, educate people on our conservation work and inspire them with our larger purpose. Additionally, we want to generate revenue, both directly and indirectly, by promoting:  

  • ticket reservations

  • membership acquisition

  • products (i.e., Wild Encounters, Treetop Adventure)

  • events (i.e., Holiday Lights, Boo at the Zoo) among key consumer targets

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for the overseeing the social strategy to day-to-day execution and optimization of social campaigns. This includes the following:

Management:

  • Lead the creative ideation and development to deliver social content for all 5 Park Social pages, each with 3 social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).

  • Maintain and elaborate on content buckets, which includes: animal stories, inside look (keeper Q&As, virtual live cams), active engagement (quizzes), conservation stories, cool science, viral moment, and community.

  • Own goals and performance metrics for campaigns; monitor regularly to understand the effectiveness of the strategy and creativity, making recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Own productive strategic meetings with key members to create larger social campaigns focused on promoting special events and initiatives.

  • Must be able to problem solve with positive mindset.

  • Lead, develop, and launch social strategies and campaigns. Must have strong copy writing skills to write social posts.

  • Must be on-site to capture content. The ideal candidate would have a background in content creation for digital with editing skills. Being able to story-tell is a must.

  • Coordinate with other departments and seek out content/stories. Must be good at building and maintaining relationships.

  • Form relationships internally with other departments such as; Guest Relations, Zoos & Aquariums, Membership, Digital & Websites and EGAD (Exhibition and Graphic Arts Department).

  • Continuously ideate and innovate within the social space. Must always be up-to-date on the latest social trends.

  • Must oversee customer service comments with response strategy in timely manner.


Qualification Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in related profession/field.

  • 5+ years of experience in social media and digital marketing, ideally for a brand with passionate end users.

  • Experience managing social pages (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube) with significant follower growth is a must. Please do not apply if you do not have this experience.

  • Experience with Zoo, Aquarium, Cultural Institution or Attraction is a plus.

  • Experience developing and using video is a plus.

  • A track record of success building and optimizing social accounts/campaigns. Key examples will be important for candidate.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, combined with the ability to collaborate across functions


Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager is responsible for enhancing the organization's profile, brand identity and community engagement. The Marketing Manager works to deliver a clear narrative and voice to build awareness about Weeksville Heritage Center’s work and impact. The position works closely with multiple areas in the organization including public programs and development/fundraising. The Marketing Manager reports to the President and CEO.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage all branding instruments and materials through traditional and digital marketing including: eblasts, social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube), and WHC’s website

  • Create compelling digital content

  • Execute and evaluate targeted paid advertising campaigns

  • Develop marketing plan with clear benchmarks and deliverables

  • Maintain and update WHC’s website

  • Create scheduled engagements through Mailchimp

  • Identify and cultivate strategic media based partnerships to ensure key successes in community engagement efforts

  • Employ analytics, SEO, micro targeting, and geotargeting to increase attendance and awareness

  • Integrate marketing work into the organization’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system

Senior Manager, Digital Communications

WCS seeks Senior Manager of WCS Digital Communications to create all forms of content, including video and graphics. This person will be tasked to edit, and post digital communications for WCS’s primary website and its supporting social handles. This person will also create content for WCS earned media, internal communications, and other special WCS projects in the US and across the globe. The position will take advantage of the tremendous amount of content available from WCS field operations and its four zoos and aquarium.
