Lead Building Engineer

Reporting to the Director of Building Operations and Safety, the Lead Building Engineer must be a proficient HVAC specialist responsible for overseeing MEP mechanical trades within the building's systems. The Lead Building Engineer will apply preventative maintenance practices and diligently address daily work orders from various museum departments. This role also entails managing and monitoring O+M budget expenditures, taking into account the typical budget constraints associated with a not-for-profit institution.

Associate, Advancement Services Analyst

The Associate, Advancement Services Operations is responsible for supporting the Advancement Services team and overseeing the overall entry and maintenance of contributions, performance set-up, and ticket processes in the Tessitura database. They work with the Manager, Advancement Services Operations on gift accounting, financial, and database management tasks. This position also supports the Associate Director, Tessitura Ticketing Operations with performance season management responsibilities.

Manager, Donor Services & Operations

Director of Building Operations

Reporting to the Executive Vice President and working in partnership with executive leadership, the Director of Building Operations oversees four key areas at Brooklyn Children’s Museum:
1) Plant management: facilities, building maintenance (geothermal system, HVAC, MEP, structural trades), grounds maintenance, custodial services, compliance (FDNY, DOB), and other building functions.
2) Security: 24-hour security coverage, including oversight of guards and security systems.
3) Capital projects: planning, construction management, and oversight.
4) Technology: help-desk and IT infrastructure, including computers and audio-visual services.

Management Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain high standards of building maintenance and operations and safety commensurate with a high visibility, intensely used, and architecturally unique structure.

  • Lead planning and decision-making required to maintain the safety, appearance, and effective/efficient use of the facility and conduct of daily activities.

  • Participate as part of the executive management team in planning; budgeting; and other management decision-making.

  • Oversee capital projects and make recommendations regarding expansion and building projects consistent with the Museum’s institutional goals
